New Zion Book Funded on Kickstarter

Discovering Zion, a Pictorial Guide to the landscape, Geology, and History of Zion National Park by Roland Lee, Robert Eves, and Lyman Hafen.

We decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign on line to help fund our new Zion Book called "Discovering Zion, a Pictorial Guide to the landscape, Geology, and History of Zion National Park." We were amazed to see many of our friends and supporters  dive in to help us achieve our goal in just 12 hours. We are so grateful to the many people who supported our efforts.Additional funds raised will be used to seed a new program which will bring students into the park to have a plein air painting experience. Thanks again to everyone. The book will be released in early fall.

University Donors Receive Gift of Roland Lee Painting.

My painting "Cliffs of Zion" was purchased by the Dixie State University as a gift to honor Denis and Diane Lyman for their $1 million contribution towards a new geology program and regional center, which will be housed on the top floor of the new $58 million Science, Engineering & Technology building set to break ground in the fall. It will be called the Denis and Diane Lyman Geology program. The couple has been taking geology classes through ICL teacher Rick Miller, which sparked their interest in geology and prompted the gift. St. George Art Festival 2019

This was the 40th year for the St. George Art Festival and I have been in all of them since the very first one, except for two when we were serving a mission in California. That's a lot of shows! Our old bones were feeling it this year as we hauled paintings, set up display panels and tent, and dodged the hot sun all day. Thanks to our friend Janelle Gailey, and our kids and grandkids who helped a lot. It was nice to touch base with lots of old friends, fellow artists, and wonderful art collectors. I was able to sell all the Mukuntuweap books I brought, art cards, DVDs, giclee prints, and four originals! If that wasn't enough The St. George Art Museum purchased a big Zion painting for their permanent collection. Thanks to everyone who made this show a success.
