Sept 12-13 New Oil Paintings by Roland Lee Featured in Art Show at Gold River Gallery

 The Gold River Gallery is hosting a special showing of my new paintings on September 12-13. In addition to my watercolor paintings I will also be showing my new oil paintings as well. The show runs from 6pm to 9pm Friday night with an art talk and powerpoint presentation at 7 pm. The show continues all day Saturday, and I will be there as well to talk about my work and sign my new art book.

Frampton Family Purchases Roland Lee Painting

I was excited to meet The Frampton family today who purchased my painting, "Sentinel Shadows"  along with a second painting, "The Perfect Morning." It was a delight meeting them and find out she had been looking at my work for a long time on line. What a joy to have precious collectors support my work.

Art Reception on September 4 at Arrowhead Gallery

 I will be the featured artist at Arrowhead Gallery during September. I will have an opening reception and book signing on Thursday September 4 at the gallery from 6 to 8pm. I hope to see you.

Plein Air Painting in Zion National Park

 I've enjoyed spending a few days each week this summer at our east Zion cabin studio. I have started a couple of new oil paintings there but especially love going into the park for some plein air painting on location.

 I spent a couple of wonderful days painting outdoors in Zion National Park and completed three new small paintings. I used my hand-held Winsor Newton watercolor set.

New Oil and Acrylic Paintings in the Arrowhead Gallery

 I have added a new art gallery in downtown St. George. My new oil and acrylic paintings will be on display for purchase at this location. My watercolors will still be handled by my other art galleries. I have 9 new paintings on display now. 68 East Tabernacle Street, St. George UT. 435-628-9592.

Book Signing and Art Talk

I had a nice crowd attend my book signing June 21 at the St. George Chamber of Commerce meeting room. I signed lots of books and shared stories behind the paintings in my new book, Roland Lee, A Legacy in Landscapes. The event was sponsored by the Book Bungalow, a local book store. My two daughters Jodi and Jana helped set up and Jodi read some quotes from the book.

Plein Air Painting with John Poon and New Painting Friends

 I am enjoying painting with new artist friends in the Ogden area as part of an acrylic workshop with master artist John Poon. Thanks to Lura Joseph and Kathy Chessee for purchasing a couple of my new plein air paintings.

 I am enjoying a wonderful workshop with my friend and master artist John Poon. Joined by 10 others we painted every day this week outdoors in the Ogden and Bountiful Utah area. It has been a fun week while I try to make sense of painting in acrylics. It has been so hot that I had to keep misting my palette, the paints and even my canvases to keep the acrylics from drying out. But I am having a blast.

 I enjoyed speaking at the closing social for the Dixie Watercolor Society. I showed my Sienna easel and my Winsor Newton hand-held kit. I also sold quite a few copies of my new book, "Legacy in Landscapes."
